Residence of the Turkish Ambassador

This project involved the modification and restoration of two types of fixtures and the manufacture of two custom designed chandeliers.  We were retained to design additional lighting to be added to two existing chandeliers without being obtrusive.   The modifications were deemed necessary to provide additional lighting without modifications to the ceiling.

We settled on a slim, spun brass trim ring to conceal three (3) Osram Mini-star side reflector lamps.  They met all of our requirements:  Compact size, dimmable, no need for lamp shielding (UV or protection from bursting) and a design which reduces heat transferred to the fixture itself.  The integral reflector allowed us to further reduce design size.  The lower center body was modified to accept the needed 12 volt transformers.  The lamps were angled outward for maximum spread.  As usual, all of our modifications were designed to be reversible.

Similar modifications were made to four, small library pendant fixtures.

The custom chandeliers were built to replace an original fixture which was quite inadequate for lighting the grand stair, wall murals and a ceiling mural.  The architect provided the aesthetic design and lamping guidance.
